Orange Bellied Parrot assisted migration
I led the publicity for a story about the ‘assisted migration’ of critically endangered Orange-bellied Parrots from Werribee Open Range Zoo to Tasmania’s South West Wilderness.
The conservation effort sees the typically migratory birds given a greater chance at reaching their breeding grounds by being flown on a plane.
I pitched the story to BBC World News and organised the live cross with a Zoos Victoria spokesperson.
